On the Runway — High School of Fashion Industries
From it’s rather non-descript exterior, one might never know there’s a power-house high school located on 24th street between 7th and 8th Avenue. What makes it surprisingly unique, is it’s curriculum (fashion design), and more interestingly, its yearly fashion show that’s usually held in May.

At $5 for the early seating, and $10 for the late seating, it’s the best entertainment bargain in town.
Inside the high school, you’ll find an auditorium sporting breath-taking murals of the textile industry, and a very, very energetic crowd. And for good reason. The designs are created and modeled by high school students, and they’re fantastic. From formal wear to resort wear to ready to wear (and more), the students strut their stuff to an appreciative audience that’s held on the edge of their seats by this entirely youth-driven spectacle. Don’t miss it.
